I am just not interested in ANY games right now. And it sucks. I finally made myself app for a next-gen game for the sole purpose of being reunited in play with Ronnie, but the co-mod rejected me on the basis of my character's sexuality. And not even a formal rejection, either. Her response to Ronnie? "She's your friend. You tell her."
Just as well, as next-gen isn't quite my cup of tea. It makes you think, though. I can't think of a mod who would force a straight player to deliberately pick up a gay character, unless the game had an overall slash theme (and in that case, what interested person is going to apply for a straight male/female?).
So show me the same backwards courtesy. It's just a game. A *next-gen game, specifically. Not like there's much canon out there to dictate how the newbies are and aren't.
I don't like conflict with other players; this is why for the past 2-3 years I've sorta faded into the background in games (ooc-wise, anyway). The less 'friends' I make, the less needless drama is inserted into my life. I have enough RL problems. I don't need backtalk coming from my computer, too. X(
I promise, this ends my series of soapbox entries.

I wonder how pissed off people would be if I just denied myself internet for the next month? Feeeeeh, you know, I go to school full-time, work 30+ hours a week, and this really really cute girl is talking to me and I should be FREE to pursue that. :(

But that's not true. I don't hate them. Just disappointed that I was able to read through this application in under 30 seconds. I don't like writing novels either, but come on.

And just when I'd found a few games I was genuinely looking forward to, LIFE HAPPENS.
Two of my professors miscalculated my final averages for last semester, giving me C's instead of B's. This tanked my entire GPA which in turn prompted the financial aid office to send me a nasty letter letting me know that I fail at life and didn't meet my scholarship requirements, so I can wave bye-bye to the $1500 that paid for my books and some of my tuition. The dean and head of the English department (who have been much more helpful and responsive as opposed to the college of education) have suggested that I ask my professors for retroactive grade change forms before sorting out the mess with financial aid.
But professors can't admit mistake with apologetic dignity. I've gotten short replies and "I just got this email, your other never went through" even though I sent about three of them.
So. Beside my iPhone's AIM being constantly on (which is getting frustrating as it keeps turning on at work), online activity will be severely limited. I'll have to take on more hours to cover book expenses, rent+utilities (FEH), plus this stupid ticket I got for when my proof of registration magically disappeared from my glove box last week.
Ain't. It. Peachy. *sulks and goes to remove holds from games*

Just a rant between Lauren and I on the portrayal of 'Southern' characters in PB games. Because True Blood warps minds AND FUCK YOU SOOKIE STACKHOUSE, I HATE YOU. (oh, and for a reference, 'Tanglewood' is a small stretch of the city where crime runs rampant and no one does a damn thing about it because the head of Monroe PD is an idiot.)

• deadpanned - From Sunny's old game, Relictus. Life decided to get in the way right as it opened. He was the older Bole's younger brother, and I loved how neurotic he was in my head. Oh, and he likes bitch girls, ie Pansy Parkinson.
• goldstn - Also from Relictus, and then I recycled him from my failed attempt at a game, Desolation Row (AGAIN, life got in the motherfucking way). My very cute, closeted practicing Jew. I was in the process of rewriting him when I decided to make DR.
• industrious - I've always wanted to play Millicent. Headstrong, violent, and with a very questionable lineage. Plus I made her half ~*GERMAN*~, because I'm a nationality fangirl. She hunts, boxes, fights dirty, and and... is a huge Quidditch enthusiast.
• nottallthere - Because Hannibal Rising!Gaspard Ulliel makes such a perfect creeper. I've always been fascinated with Nott's character, despite the limited information. He has the potential to be such an interesting character: one of the few Slytherins NOT in Draco's gang, not a very outspoken purist (atleast it seems that way), the fact that Rowling had drafted scenes with him and Draco together (he's obviously pure-blooded or from an important family), can see thestrals because he saw someone die... And we know his mum's out of the picture. Yes, I'm a Nott fangirl. Plus, it amuses me that his father was one of Voldemort's original supporters and attended school with him. So we know he's an old fuck. Or can guess that he is, anyway.
• rebooted - I'm attached to the idea of playing him as the wizard who grew up with the benefit of both worlds: muggle ties and wizard ties. He likes apocalyptic theories, zombies, conspiracy, handmade sweaters, and is adorably awkward around girls. Before I was going to stick him in Obscuritas, I had plans to play him in my friend's Daily Prophet game as a gay, cynical copy editor with too many cats and not enough friends.
• unrefined - I love Adrian. I could vent through him. He wasn't priggish or stuck up, but still very self-righteous. The pure-bloods couldn't stand him; he was perpetually homeless, a smartass, shameless, and didn't hold his tongue to remind them that they were all inbred idiots. I felt so sorry for him when he realized that the girl he'd been pining after was actually DATING one of the inbred idiots. Alicia Spinnet, she broke his heart. And then Katie Bell smushed those pieces into even tinier pieces. Women be wicked.
